Jumbo Pretzels

Jumbo Pretzels - Pretzels are a classic American snack, but they actually began in Germany. A large soft pretzel with a deep brown surface dyads impeccably with a pint of German beer. At EPCOT, Goliath Pretzels come in the iconic crooked and pressed pretzel shape, but yours can be in any shape you can imagine. Let the kiddies get creative!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ½ mugs warm water( 110 °F), divided 
  • 1 ½ soupspoons dark molasses
  • 1(0.25- ounce) package active dry incentive
  • 3 soupspoons interspersed adulation, softened
  • 4 mugs each- purpose flour
  • ½ tablespoon swab
  • 2 soupspoons incinerating soda pop 
  • 2 soupspoons coarse swab
  • 2 soupspoons interspersed adulation, melted


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine 1 ½ mugs warm water, molasses, and incentive in a small coliseum and let bloom 10 twinkles until head forms on top.
  2. In the coliseum of a stage mixer fitted with a dough hook attachment, cream softened adulation, flour, and swab. Add incentive admixture. Knead admixture in coliseum or by hand 8 twinkles or until dough is soft and elastic.
  3. Cut dough in half and work with one half at a time. sluggishly and precisely roll and pull dough into a 4 ’-long rope. produce a U shape by holding up each end, also cross the ends and bring them back down toward the bottom of theU. Pull ends back toward sides of pretzel and pinch ends onto pretzel. Repeat with alternate dough piece. Place each pretzel on a piece of diploma paper and neat paper close to dough. Allow dough to rest 20 twinkles.
  4. Place a baking distance upside down on middle rack in roaster and preheat to 500 °F.
  5. Pour remaining 1 mug warm water and baking soda pop into a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a pustule. Remove from heat. Encounter freehandedly onto each pretzel and sprinkle with coarse swab.
  6. Precisely slide 1 pretzel with diploma paper onto preheated visage in roaster. Singe at 500 °F 10 – 15 twinkles until deep brown. Remove from roaster and reprise with remaining pretzel. Brush finished pretzels with melted adulation as they come out of the roaster and serve incontinently.
